On Febuary 2nd 2007, at approximately 6:48 PM, Jusitn Holford arrived at Charring Cross Station in London. There, he met Tim Crisp and David Lamb. On May 27th, the three attended a Sixth Form induction day at Wilmington Grammar School for Boys. On these days, the bonds of these friends would strengthen, leading to their first video production. A music video set to the song "Mahna Mahna", this starred David in his first on screen role and was a return role for Justin as a Director. After this, David and Justin had more ideas about films, sprouting forth the ideas for 'Low Turnout', as well as the still pre-production film 'Housed'.
Later, Tim and and Justin became firm friends with their shared interest and skills in computing and media, making the two a natural duo to make and manage the nss Web Community. David and Justin fianlly decided to put a name to their works. They came up with nonstandard. Over the coming while, they spent many-a weekend writing scripts and doing draft ideas for movies. Dave's own pet project 'Low Turnout' already had a good head start and was making leaps and strides with it's production (both in the pre-filming stages and later development). The series went through several generations of produciton.
In the early months of 2008, Tim, Justin, Dave and Ben came together more and finally put down on paper exactly what was going to happen with the production of the series, as well as investing in new equipment for the stuios use. Though no-one can say for certain where this is all going, or even if it will be successful, we still have our hopes. And with both onscreen projects (such as 'Wayne and Liam' and 'Tim and Tom Go Crazy') and off screen projects (such as getting into University) on the way, we can say this for certain, nonstandard isn't going to be standing still.
In the closing months of 2009, NonStandard has restructured itself into NonStandard Productions, and now includes the works of NS-RV, FrontCover Designs, BritishGeek Photography and Radio N. We have many new members, from all over the country, dedicated teams of writers, broadcasters, programmers and media designers who work on a huge number of original and commission projects.
